Long before there was an organization called Fearless & Focused, there was a little girl learning how to find courage in circumstances she did not choose.
My name is Doria Michelle Tabron, and my story is one of faith, forgiveness, resilience, transformation, and purpose.
My journey began in Detroit, Michigan. By the time I reached sixth grade, the world as I knew it had begun to change. My parents divorced, and shortly afterward, my mother survived a horrific automobile accident that claimed the life of her best friend and left my mother with life-changing injuries.
But the changes in my family went even deeper.
The man I had known as my father since infancy was actually my stepfather. For years, I did not have a relationship with my biological father and was discouraged from searching for him. As a young girl, I did not fully understand the complicated decisions of the adults around me. I only understood what those circumstances made me feel: rejected, confused, lonely, and abandoned.
Eventually, my mother left, and my siblings and I were raised by our grandmother.
I was the only girl among my brothers, and there were moments when one question seemed impossible to escape:
How could my mother leave me?
Those feelings followed me into adolescence and young adulthood.
I heard people speak words over my life that could have become my identity. I was told that because of where I came from and what had happened in my family, I would never become anything significant.
For a time, I believed pieces of those words.
I struggled with rejection, insecurity, and what I would later recognize as imposter syndrome. Outwardly, I continued moving forward. Inwardly, I was still trying to understand my worth.
Understanding the Brokenness
As I grew older, God began to change the way I viewed my story.
Instead of only seeing what had happened to me, I began asking what had happened to the generations before me.
I learned more about my grandmother’s childhood and the rejection and loss she had experienced. I began to understand my mother’s wounds differently as well.
A powerful truth became clear to me:
Hurt that is never healed can travel from one generation to the next.
That revelation changed my life.
I could continue carrying rejection, anger, and unforgiveness—or I could decide that the cycle would stop with me.
I chose forgiveness.
Forgiveness did not change the past. It changed what the past was allowed to do with my future.
Through prayer, Scripture, and a growing relationship with God, I began a journey toward healing and restoration. The little girl who once questioned whether she was worthy of being loved began discovering that her identity was not determined by abandonment, rejection, family history, or the opinions of other people.
My identity was rooted in God.
And eventually, the experiences I once wished I could erase became part of the foundation of my purpose.
Behind the Chair
Beauty became one of the first places where that purpose came alive.
After high school, I attended cosmetology school and began building a career in the beauty industry. What started with hair quickly became something much greater.
Women sat in my chair carrying far more than styling requests.
- They brought dreams.
- Fear.
- Relationship struggles.
- Career questions.
- Insecurity.
- Family challenges.
And sometimes, they simply needed someone to remind them that they mattered.
I listened. I encouraged. I prayed. I mentored.
The salon chair became an unexpected place of ministry.
Over more than three decades in the beauty industry, I grew from cosmetologist to educator, instructor, salon leader, entrepreneur, and business owner. For more than two decades, I helped manage and operate a family-owned group of salons, hiring, training, developing, and mentoring beauty professionals across multiple locations.
I encouraged women to pursue cosmetology careers, advance their education, obtain instructor licenses, and believe that they were capable of more.
Those experiences became what I now call Behind the Chair with Fearless & Focused.
Before Fearless & Focused had a formal name, a nonprofit designation, programs, or a website, its mission was already happening—one woman, one conversation, and one transformed mindset at a time.
From the Salon Chair to a Greater Platform
My journey continued to expand.
I became an educator and executive leader in the beauty-school industry. I became an entrepreneur and owner of Doria Me'Chelle Multicultural Hair Salon and later created Doria Me’Chelle Hair Care, extending a vision that began behind the chair into products designed to help women care for and celebrate their beauty.
But God continued opening doors beyond the beauty industry.
Pageantry became another platform for purpose.
After earning Second Runner-Up at Mrs. Arizona America, I continued my journey and ultimately became Mrs. Arizona International 2025.
The crown did not create my purpose.
It gave greater visibility to a purpose that had been developing for decades.
As a wife, mother, entrepreneur, educator, minister, author, beauty professional, humanitarian, and community leader, I began to recognize that every chapter of my life was connected.
The little girl who once struggled to understand her value had become a woman called to help other women and young people recognize theirs.
Fearless & Focused Is Born
Today, Fearless and Focused, Inc. represents the culmination of that journey.
Our mission is to empower individuals and strengthen communities through compassion, confidence, leadership, education, and service.
Through mentorship, personal and professional development, community engagement, wellness, financial awareness, self-defense education, leadership development, and the Tabron Workbook, we help women, youth, and families recognize their value, embrace their potential, and move beyond the circumstances that might otherwise define them.
The Tabron Workbook carries lessons born not merely from theory, but from lived experience—lessons about identity, confidence, resilience, leadership, purpose, and becoming intentional about the life you choose to build.
Fearless & Focused exists because I know what it feels like to question your worth.
I know what it feels like to hear voices telling you what you cannot become.
I also know what can happen when faith becomes stronger than fear, forgiveness becomes greater than pain, and purpose becomes greater than the circumstances of your past.
The Legacy
Today, I can look back at the little girl who felt abandoned and see her differently.
She was not at the end of her story.
She was at the beginning of it.
Every difficult chapter helped develop the compassion with which I serve today. Every closed door taught me perseverance. Every experience behind the salon chair taught me how powerful it can be when one person truly sees another person’s potential.
And every step of my journey has reinforced the foundational Scripture of Fearless & Focused:
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Fearless & Focused is therefore more than an organization.
It is a declaration that your beginning does not have to determine your ending.
It is an invitation to break cycles instead of repeating them.
To forgive without allowing the past to define you.
To discover your value.
To develop your gifts.
To lead with integrity.
To serve others.
And to walk boldly into the purpose God has placed within you.
I am Doria Michelle Tabron, and this is why I live Fearless & Focused.
From behind the chair to the community, from brokenness to purpose, and from fear to faith—this is more than my story. It is the beginning of a legacy.
